Stay the F in bed!

Seriously loosing my mind! I am going on day 13 of my otherwise cute son thinking it is REALLY funny to get out of bed 500 times! I can't take it anymore.....He just runs away from me laughing, ARGH!
I have walked him back to bed many times, gave him timeouts, taken away things and tonight after I finally caught him I swatted him on his diaper butt! And he still laughs at me!!!!! I am not a swatter I don't believe in spanking kids but that is how bad it is. And believe me I instantly felt terrible.

I have had it, I am spent and fresh out of patience!
Not only does he keep getting out of bed he is in his room turning on the light, getting up onto his sisters bed and taking stuff from his sister! Terrible twos doesn't even begin to describe this kid right now!!

Any suggestions from you saintly or insanely parents would be great!! Please help me before I start drinking at noon everyday!! LOL
GAWD its a good thing he is so stinking cute!!

Watch yur mouth!

My husband and I always joke with each other when we are looking for something. After we ask each other if we have seen something, we usually and very maturely reply " Have you looked up your butt?" yep.
So now that my daughter can almost read and can carry on a conversation better than I can. I realize I need to watch my mouth!! No more swearing like a sailor unless warranted.
So the moral of this story is don't ask my daughter if she has seen something you are looking for cause she will most likely reply " Have you looked up your butt?"

Are there things your kids repeat that you wish they wouldn't have? Post a comment and share your funny stories!!

The Elf on the Shelf

Really if you haven't checked "The Elf on the Shelf" out you should. Brilliant, just brilliant.
The premise is that the Elf sits on the shelf and keeps an eye on the children and then reports back to Santa every night about it they were good or bad. And because he leaves every night the kids wake to find him on a different shelf. So I decided to use this to my advantage.....insert evil laugh here, BWAHAHAHAAAAA

The first night I wasn't so clever and my daughter woke to find him on the bookshelf. Then the second night I moved him to the shelf in the bathroom. Nola ( my 4 year old) found him the next morning and with a confused and amused look on her face she asks " Mama the bathroom seems like kinda of a silly place for him to be?" And I said, " Because he wants to make sure you are brushing your teeth everyday!".....insert evil laugh, BWAHAHAHAAAAA

So then the 3rd night I put him on the shelf above the kitchen stove. And when my daughter awoke the next morning she ran around the house looking for him and when she finally found him she had that same confused-amused look on her face and said " Mama why is Happy ( O' yeah you get to name him too!) up there?" I replied holding my evil laugh back " He is making sure you eat all your vegetables!!" BWAHAHAAAA

Now I was not so clever last night and saw him sitting on the shelf in the kitchen. And before the kids came into the kitchen I hurried up and put him on the shelf behind the coffee pot between two plants. The kids turned the corner just as I set him down! Phew they didn't see me!! So I just went on with getting my coffee started. Nola was instantly on a mission to find Happy. Man she looked every where. I realized he was kinda a tucked away so I felt bad and said " O' here he is. How did he get here?" Nola said " I don't know Mom. That is a crazy spot." I said " He must of been so tired from his journey last night he walked in the door and couldn't make it any farther." Nola said " And now he wants some coffee!"

This whole thing has been way more fun then I expected. But my only caution to you is it is only for the true believers!! My son who is 2 could care less about Happy. But my daughter is a total believer. She even told me today when I picked her up from daycare that she was a good girl cause she wants the Elf to tell Santa she was good!

Little bit of Christmas magic never hurt anyone and who knows maybe it will work in your advantage too! Insert evil laugh, BWAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA

You know your a Mommy when.....

  • you look forward to cleaning the house with everyone out of the house...
  •  you start the coffee pot before anyone gets their breakfast.....
  • you find "Mommy time" by buckling the kids in their car seats and running back in the house to go pee
  • you LOVE lady Gaga...this might just be me but its my new obsession
  • you find yourself standing in a room wondering what you were doing there
  • you are asking yourself the last time you took a shower or brushed your teeth
  • you save your calories/carbs for your evening adult beverage
  • you think its evening and its only 2pm
  • you dream of owning more efficient-kick-ass appliances
  • you pretend to be having a "really long" poop on the toilet
  • you rearrange furniture, a lot
  • you are blogging.......
*I know that this does not describe ALL Mommies. And this is not my complete list. I was hoping all you Mommies out there could help me add to it! So leave a comment with " You know your a Mommy when"....Can't wait to read them!! Happy Sunday:)
